Bleubird Studio is All This and a Yoga Studio!
No-contact entry. Lots of space, inside and out. (Social distancing, you know.) Stunning views. Beautiful, calming interior surroundings. A place to prepare meals. A place for peace and quiet – but with activity and a variety of dining options nearby.
Bleubird Studio is all this and more.
Travelers venturing out for the first time in several months have a whole list of must-haves on their checklist. Because, well . . . pandemic.
This new three-story home, featuring two private guestrooms – each with en suite bath – yoga/fitness studio and first-floor art gallery, is the very essence of airy grandeur in downtown Georgetown. And it checks all the boxes for what visitors love when they travel: The house is new; the furniture is new – and then there’s that little something-something.
With its robin’s egg nest blue exterior, Bleubird Studio feels like an aerie-esque retreat. Guestrooms are bright and welcoming and open to a shared balcony porch with comfy and inviting seating. Ceiling fans and gaslights up the charm. A genteel sweep of farmland dotted with stands of trees provides an irresistible view.
“Even though we are on Main Street, we are surrounded by farmland,” said owner Jane Hale. “We have a meditation room on the third floor with 22 windows for viewing the country and downtown.”
Ideal for families getting together for a Georgetown escape, the house offers a community kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker for those who enjoy whipping up their own casual meals and snacks. For added convenience, the kitchenette is also equipped with washer and dryer. Entrance to the home is via a digital lock front door entrance; each guestroom has coded digital locks and independent access.
Because of the pandemic, all group classes – fitness, yoga, art – were cancelled through June and expected to resume in July. Additionally, Bleubird offers private fitness and yoga classes and makes the home’s large yoga studio available for guest use on their own, along with mats and props.
The art gallery features local artists. Guests are free to wander among the gallery during their stay and, if they see something they can’t live without, is available for purchase. If so inspired, guests can also request a private art lesson.
“Given enough notice, we can happily arrange for an art class,” said Jane, noting there is a fee for supplies and the private instructions.
The house is within walking distance to Georgetown’s historic downtown and its dozens of coffee shops, cafés and fine dining restaurants as well as the distillery, Bourbon 30, which is located across from Royal
Spring Park – the very spot where bourbon was allegedly discovered in 1789. (Updated information about Georgetown restaurants offering onsite service, curbside pickup and delivery may be found here.)
Bleubird Studio is listed on both Airbnb and VRBO. Free Wi-Fi and free parking are included in a stay, among many other amenities. Hotel-to-House Hack
“Play with texture. Incorporating different materials will add some depth to any space. Mix and match design styles with confidence. (The cookie-cutter look is so yesterday.) Our tired French Provincial white and gold was updated in robin’s egg blue, gray and gold, creating a whimsical and beautiful new look. To update yesterday’s mid-century furniture, paint with color.” Jane Hale, Bleubird Studio.
